Ellin Curley
Ellin Curley has always loved the theater. While at Georgetown University Law Center in the early 1970s, Ellin was one of the founding members of The Georgetown Gilbert & Sullivan Society, a theatrical company that bills itself as “America’s Only Theater Group With Its Own Law School.” The company is still thriving today. While she enjoyed performing on stage, Ellin soon realized she enjoyed writing much more. She wrote humorous poems for family and friends and in the 1990s started a company called Photo-Synthesis, which provided personalized poems for individual and corporate clients. She then went on to write “Rhyming Rants: Witty and Terse, Essays In Verse,” covering topics like parenthood, growing old gracefully, and over-the-top dog lovers. In 2012 she entered the world of audio theater, teaming with her husband Tom to write “On The Internet Nobody Knows You’re a Dog,” performed by members of VoiceScapes at the 2012 National Audio Theatre Festival Workshop. She has co-written most of the original scripts that VoiceScapes performs along with her husband Tom. She also contributes to a very popular blog site, “Serendipity, Searching For Intelligent Life On Earth.”

Tom Curley
Tom Curley first entered the world of audio theater while in college. He worked for four years at Hofstra University’s college radio station, WVHC, and while there he created 30 episodes of a one-hour comedy radio show called “Fulton’s Folly.” At the time he was heavily influenced by groups such as Monty Python and, of course, the Firesign Theater. Tom then went to work for the ABC Radio Network, WCBS FM and then to the CBS Television Network. During his tenure at CBS he worked as an audio engineer on such shows as“60 Minutes,” “The CBS Morning News,” “The CBS Evening News,” “The NFL Today” and “The Joan Rivers Show.” In 1992 he became one of the first “Hyphenate” director/technical directors for “CBS News Up To The Minute.” In 2000 he went to work for “CBS Market Watch.” He also created nine episodes of a comedy series called “A Half Hour Radio Show,” which was syndicated nationally. It is currently online for free downloads. Tom also wrote and produced what can arguably be called the first full length parody of “Star Trek,” called “Sterling Bronson, Space Engineer. It is also currently available online. In 2011 he retired from CBS. His true love and hobby is still audio theater. He directs, performs, and writes most of the original material that VoiceScapes performs along with his wife, Ellin.
